So it’s been a while since I’ve posted any news from Unseen Shadows but that’s not because nothing been going on, quite the opposite. Work has been progressing nicely on the second Unseen Shadows Comic anthology entitled ‘Tales of the Forgotten’. The reason behind the title as that this anthology will hopefully coincide with the launch of ‘Forgotten Warriors’ the follow up to Fallen Heroes and the second part of the Unseen Shadows trilogy of novels.
Rob's brilliant cover for Band of Butchers
I’m more than happy to pass along the news that our very own Band of Butchers artist Rob Carey has been nominated in the Irish Comic Awards in the BEST MAINSTREAM PUBLISHED IRISH ARTIST category. Rob has done fantastic work on Band of Butchers as well as his work on a host of other projects including The Indifference Engine by Cy Dethan.
Some of Rob's art from The Indifference Engine with Colours by Mel Cook
The voting is open now and will going on until Friday 28th October. So if you love Rob’s art (and why wouldn’t you?) then head over to the voting page and cast your vote.
I wish Rob all the best in the awards and if he wins it couldn’t happen to a nicer fella!
So here it is the first proper look at one of the spin off comics coming out of the Unseen Shadows universe. The other projects are well underway so expect preview art, sound files and more to keep on coming.
Huge thanks and props to the Band of Butchers team – Dan Thompson (Writer), Rob Carey (Artist), Vicky Stonebridge (Colourist) and Paul Mclaren (Letterer) who have been doing fantastic work bringing Clancy and his team to the comic page.
Ladies and gents I give you a five page preview Clancy Wallencheck: Band of Butchers…be warned there’s some harsh language ahead.
Band of Butchers preview
I know I’m spoiling you now but I really couldn’t hang onto these any longer. If you’ve recovered from the fantastic art by Conor then brace yourself for the first two page of art from Clancy Wallencheck: Band of Butchers written by Dan Thompson. The art is handled by Rob Carey and for the first time you get to see Vicky Stonebridge’s brilliant colours on these pages.
