Meet And Listen to the Cast of Audio Adventure ‘Empire of Blood’

So it’s been a very interesting couple of months for me getting to peek behind the curtain of an audio drama production and co-write my very first audio script.

I’ve been a big fan of audio dramas ever since I was a kid when I first listened to the Lord of the Rings audio adaptation on BBC Radio. To be here listening to a host of fantastic voice actors and actresses reading for a part in a drama centered arond a character from one of my stories is a mind blower and no mistake.

I think the weirdest part for me was listening to the audition’s for Vincent’s part and having to match that against how I’d heard Vincent sounding in my head as I wrote his dialogue. All in all a rewarding and interesting experience for me and hopefully it will be for everyone involved. Big thanks again to Alan White for spearheading this, putting together the story ideas and script, creating and posting up the casting sheets and allowing me to play an active role in the process.

So with the deadline passed Alan and I listened to all the great auditions, shared our thoughts and then came up with the cast for episode one of Vincent Marconi’s first outing into the world of audio. As a little background for people who have read Fallen Heroes this adventure is set after the events of the novel. Like all the spin off projects we are ensuring that people won’t need to have read the novel to enjoy the audio drama but if you want a richer experience then it’s definitely going to help having read it.

What I decided to do was rather than just list the cast I would also stick on my fave readings from their auditions to give you a hint of what to expect. There will be more info on the cast members in the weeks to come as recording for episode 1 gets well underway.

So I give you the cast of Episode 1 of first Unseen Shadows audio adventure ‘Empire of Blood’.

‘Stolen’ Finds it’s Artist

So earlier this week I announced the fifth comic spin off from the Unseen Shadows universe would be called Stolen, centered on master criminal The Hand and written by Corey Brotherson. The lettering would be handled by the deft hands of Paul Mclaren.

I’m now happy to reveal that Cormac Hughes will be taking on the art duties for this project.

We will now be looking for a colorist to complete team but work is already moving forward on both the script and the art. In the meantime here’s a little taster from Cormac of what you can expect.

‘The Hand’ Spin off Comic in the Works

I’m very pleased to announced that I’ve given the go ahead for another Unseen Shadows comic to be created. The comic will be written by Corey Brotherson the writer of the fantastic Magic of Myths and will center on master thief Ben Ashodi aka The Hand introduced in the Fallen Heroes novel and issue 1 of the comic adaptation.

I read Coreys’ pitch over the weekend and like all the other writers on this project I was both excited and a little scared by how well he knew my characters.

Corey’s now gearing up to start work on the script and then we will start the hunt for an art team. Paul Mclaren has already agreed to take on the lettering duties on this project, which is great news.

More news soon but to whet your appetite here’s the blurb for the comic.

The Hand – Stolen

Stealth, skills and style – the life of Ben Ashodi, AKA The Hand, is one hell of a ride. A talented escape artist and professional thief for hire, The Hand teeters on a precarious high wire, balanced between a career of criminality and a strong sense of morals.

Although when responsibility over his past actions catch up with him, it soon becomes clear there are some things even this master escapologist cannot get away from…
